In February 2017 Howard County lifted it’s ban on stun gun and Taser self defense devices, and on April 3, 2017 Baltimore’s County Council voted unanimously to repeal the county ban on stun guns and Tasers. These changes are in response to a federal lawsuit filed by area residents suggesting that their Second Amendment rights extend to stun guns. Baltimore County executive Kevin Kamenetz is expected to sign the repeal into law soon.
